Hey OLD School fans!
Yesterday was our resupply for the backpacking section. The students have now been in the woods for 9 days, so we checked in with them and gave them food, fuel, and some good surprises. They were super-excited to see us, and to tell us funny stories that had happened so far. We brought them McDonalds, fruit, and candy bars, and you would have thought they hadn't eaten in months. We got mobbed for real.
Everyone is doing great. All of the students dropped about 3000 feet of elevation day before yesterday, so the warmer temperatures are treating everyone well! They've had pretty good weather - no real hard rains at all, just some typical Western Carolina mist/fog. Amy, Alani and I camped with the girls 2 nights ago (Alani's first ever OLD School trip!! see pics!), and got to hang out with them a good bit.
It is evident that the Lord is working in the lives of these students. Please continue to pray for them, that most of all, more than a cool experience or good outdoor skill, that they would be more and more conformed to the image of CHRIST!
The OLD Schoolers are coming out of the woods on Monday, and then having a day off for much needed showers and laundry (I've never smelled anything like Brandon's shirt) before moving on to the next sections!
Everyone says hello!
